Facing East, 2007
Solo exhibition, L2kontemporary Gallery, Los Angeles, CA.
The confluence of Eastern and Western cultures is celebrated in the artwork of "Facing East." Works included in this exhibition combine the elaborately crafted and richly decorated art, architecture, and literature of Azerbaijan as it intertwines with images and symbols familiar to those found in my native state of California.
A Lyons Faculty Research Grant from the Roski School of Fine Arts at the University of Southern California funded a full color catalogue of the exhibition.

"Notes on Facing East," is a 50-page full color journal containing passages from a daily diary kept during my fifteen-day journey to Azerbaijan in May 2006. Also included in this journal is an in-depth explanation of resources for the artwork in the exhibition.
The catalog (free) and journal ($20) are available upon REQUEST from the artist.
