On view in the main Cerritos Millenium Library lobby will be selected works created between 1991- 2019. This collection reflects the inspiration of foreign customs and cultures from my extensive travels through the years. Incorporating cultural symbols and patterns my artwork creates new, hybrid pieces that celebrate how we borrow and learn from one another. Recent work explores the territory of memory by taking an interior journey that investigates the roots of my own identity.
To accompany the show I’ve also compiled a list of favorite books by authors from Central Europe to the Middle East that highlight the cultures that have inspired my work. See the full Reading List.

The word “morphology” comes from the Greek word for “form.” The term now refers to a common mode of scientific analysis utilized to understand objects in terms of their parts, shapes, and structures. Morphology also explores how these parts come together to create a unified whole. This exhibition is dedicated to a morphological understanding of pottery.
